Fair Fun! We had a jam-packed day, walked close to 6 miles, and will sleep good tonight!!

A few 6th graders had a chance to play around with our Makey Makey gadgets that were donated by Devon Energy as part of the Cal Ripken Foundation grant. They had to test out different materials to see which would conduct the right energy to make their keyboards work.
They had a blast!

🍽 Did you know you can find this month's full breakfast and lunch menus on our website and app? 🍽

Last meet of the season for XC!
We have more medals coming home to Calumet!
Very proud of all our runners who put in a lot of work this year!

The 6th graders have been hard at work the past two days as they wrapped up their first unit in reading. Their finals projects were an in-depth author study & story analysis. They completed character body bio's, one-pagers comparisons, watched a movie and took a quiz, sampled sweets they read about, and utilized a new RACE writing strategy to answer questions!
Lots of hard work and learning took place... with some fun, of course!!

Thank you to the U.S. Cavalry Association from Fort Reno! We were excited to have their horses and wagons visit our school in Calumet, giving our students the chance to learn about them up-close and in-person.

They did it! Shawn completed his run and passed the baton to our XC runners in town. They completed the last stretch of the run through town and finished with the whole school cheering them on!
Congratulations to our top 3 finishers Ryder Garrett, James Havener, and Bryson Fletcher. The JH runners (Mrs. Renbarger & Shawn Davis) ran almost exactly 4 miles today!
We are so proud of them and even more proud of how our community jumped in to make this all possible on such an important day. We #RantoRemember today!
Thank you to Mr. Major and the parents who jumped in and did whatever was needed to make today run so smoothly. It takes a village and we have a great one!!

& she's off! Mrs. Renbarger is about to finish her leg and the JH runners will begin the 2nd leg of the run!

We are currently unable to receive outside calls to the school. Please email the teachers or the office if you need to contact someone.

Took a small group of elementary runners to Lomega this evening for another race! We love seeing the improvements they are making!
More medals coming home to Calumet!

Calumet XC competed in Moore this morning. Our elementary runners had to compete K-6 in one division so we are super proud of our young runners for taking on the challenge! Ryder Garrett place 3rd out of 57 runners.
Our JH runners did great too; Makya Muskett placed 12th out of 62 runners, James Havener placed 22nd out of 90 runners and Liam Cox came in 54/90.
Great day to be a Chieftain!

9/11 is a day to remember and honor those that lost their lives on that tragic day & a day to honor our current first responders and military who keep us safe each and every day.
On September 11th, as a community, Calumet will run 9.11 miles. Mrs. Renbarger, Shawn Davis, and the JH XC runners will split up the bulk of the run and the elementary runners will join in for the last 1.11 mile. They will cross the finish line between the two school buildings. It is hard to give an exact time frame of when they will finish, but we would estimate around 8:50AM.
Please wear your red, white, and blue & come up and cheer them across the finish line if you are able!
