We’re excited to announce that Mr. Phillip Major is stepping into a new role as Junior High and High School Principal!

Mr. Major brings 15 years of teaching experience, including the past four years leading our Ag program. He earned his Bachelor’s in Agricultural Education from Oklahoma State University and his Master’s in Education Administration from SWOSU.

Outside of school, Mr. Major loves spending time with his wife, Katy, and their three kids: Merritt (10), Deacon (8), and Laney (3). He also enjoys showing pigs and playing golf.

Mr. Major shared, “Four years ago Calumet welcomed us with open arms and we really like it here. I am looking forward to serving the school and community in this new role.”

🚜 Meet Trever Stelzig: Our New Agricultural Educator & FFA Advisor! 🌾
We’re excited to welcome Mr. Stelzig to Calumet Schools! Trever comes to us from Minco High School with 3 years of experience and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education & Agribusiness.

Outside the classroom, he enjoys duck hunting, fishing, and going to concerts. He and his fiancée, Keely, are getting married this November. They have a toy poodle and a Sheepadoodle! 🐾

Mr. Stelzig says, “I’m excited to work with the students of Calumet to inspire them to dream big and help them to be the best version of themselves!” Welcome to Calumet, Trever! 🎉

Hey Chieftains! The OSSAA's Dead Period is here! 🗓️ June 28 – July 6 is the official OSSAA Dead Week. 🏋️‍♂️ No school facilities will be open for students. 📵 No contact with coaches during this time. This 9-day pause lines up with the 4th of July—enjoy your holiday, stay safe, and we’ll see you after the break!

🌟 Congratulations to Kyler Thiessen! Kyler has been selected as an infielder for the OBCA All-State Game! He’ll represent the Small West Team on Sunday, June 8th at 2:30 PM at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid, Oklahoma. ⚾ Father & Son Duo in the All-State Game! Head Coach Cody Thiessen will join his son, coaching the Small West Team in this special game. Way to go, Kyler and Coach Thiessen — we’re proud of you both! ⚾👏

Calumet Basketball Camp is this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8am-11am for 1st-6th grade boys and girls. Please arrive early to sign release waiver at drop off. *Gyms will be closed Monday until Thursday at 12pm for daily camp clean up and set up.

Thank you to everyone who voted in Tuesday's bond election. The bond has passed, and a new Performing Arts Center is coming to Calumet.

SoftSeven Shoutouts! Isaac Stanke got an award for school WordRace Champ & school Addition Champ! Silas Taylor got an award for being in the Top 100 in the nation for Word Race competitions! & Asher Curtis cleaned house with awards for Top 100 in the nation for WordRace & Newton competitions, in addition to the school Multiplication & GeoStates Champion!

It truly was a Run to Remember this morning as our elementary runners completed their 26th mile in honor of those who lost their lives 30 years ago in the OKC bombing. A big thank you to the Peters family for making signs of all those Oklahoma lost & providing snacks and drinks for the runners. Our run in OKC got rained out so we made the magic happen here in Calumet this morning. We are so proud of our runners for representing our school in this event!

6th grade got to go on their graduation trip today. We enjoyed a day at Top Golf, Raisin' Canes, and some fishing. This is an incredible group of kids who get to graduate from our elementary tomorrow evening. We can't wait to see what they accomplish, but we are sad to see them go.
