DID YOU KNOW? Children of parents who talk to their teens regularly about drugs are 42% less likely to use drugs than those who don't. Students are getting ready for Red Ribbon Week 2019- This year's theme is "Send a Message. Stay Drug Free." Parents: please partner with Calumet Schools to continue the conversation by discussing this message at home.

This photo is being entered in the National Red Ribbon Week photo contest. It depicts a younger girl looking up to an older girl holding a sign that says “I am always watching.” The theme for Red Ribbon Week this year is “Send A Message. Stay Drug Free.” That message and the ribbon have to be in the photo. The balloon has a picture of a teenager who died of a drug overdose, and the older girl is holding the balloon as if it is floating to heaven. This is symbolizing that she is sending a message to the younger girl that drugs kill. Wish us luck on this contest as the winner gets $1000 and an iPad.

Parents of Sophomores: We will be administering the PreACT to all 10th graders on Oct. 23rd. This test is a shorter version of the ACT. The PreACT is a great way to prepare the students to take the ACT and scores can be used to qualify students for concurrent classes at Redlands Community College starting their junior year.
