Sophomore students participated in Kindness Week by helping our wonderful lunch ladies clean the cafeteria and remove trash. They took them each a small gift as a token of appreciation for all they do for students and staff. #calumetkindnessweek2019

#calumetkindnessweek2019 is in full swing at CHS. Here, students are making cards for Konowa students and staff affected by the recent tragedy. Posters with kindness quotes line the halls, each teacher and staff member has a note on his or her door with kind words written on them, and students’ lockers are lined with sticky notes with thoughtful words. Tomorrow, students will be meeting during Chieftain Time to discuss planting new flowers in the school flowerbeds.

Reminder: 10th grade is the last year that students can enroll in Oklahoma’s Promise. This program allows students in the 8th, 9th, or 10th grade, from families with an income of $55,000 or less, to receive free college tuition. Students must meet certain academic and conduct requirements to fulfill their obligations and must attend a public, in-state college. The deadline for applying is July 1. Students may apply online at www.okhighered.org/okpromise/

If students are interested in making cards to send to Konowa Public Schools to show love and support for their tragic accident this weekend, please go to Ms. Lippencott’s room during Chieftain Time on Monday. #chieftainpride
Today is the deadline for the national ACT test on April 13. Students/parents can goto http://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/the-act/registration.html to register. Please call the high school office for our school code. All students on the free and reduced lunch program are eligible for 2 fee waivers in high school to take the ACT for free. Please see Ms. Lippencott for these. They are available for the next testing date on June 8. Please be sure that students read the link above to make sure all required materials are taken on testing day. *Failing to do so will mean a student will be turned away at the door.
All juniors will take the ACT as part of state testing, for free, on April 4 at the school.
