Note From The Superintendent

A NOTE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT

February is here and it is basketball playoffs again. Don’t let the cold air keep you away from seeing our student athletes in basketball and cheerleading compete at a very high level. There are only a few things in life that is as much fun as small school Saturday night championship basketball! Our young men and women have worked so hard for the past four months just getting ready for the playoffs. So come out and support your Chieftains.

Just a few notes about the FFA program. We now have over 50 animals that are showing in contest. The show team has been on tour for the past several weeks that leads up to OYE this Spring. The other Ag teams are working on speeches and other projects. This FFA program has been so good for several students to get engaged at school. Many of the students are placing in the top five.

As I walk around this school system today, I can’t help but to thank the good Lord for what has been going on. The buildings with all the new classrooms and safe rooms at each site, WOW. Thanks goes out to the Board of Education for having the vision to build while keeping the tax dollars down for the home owners in this district. Then thank you the tax payers for helping put students in such a safe learning environment each day.

Last bit of info is our new Calumet Web site and Calumet app that is free online. It is so nice to post on Facebook, Twitter, and Live feed all at one time. Please download the app and keep up to date on all school events. This app will help all of us to communicate even better than before. As always, may you be so blessed, and it is a great day to be a Chieftain!

Sincerely,

Dr. Keith Weldon
