CHILD FIND/IDENTIFICATION

CHILD FIND/IDENTIFICATION
Calumet Public Schools
2023-2024

Calumet Public Schools, in its quest to fulfill the goal of providing a full educational opportunity to all in-district children with disabilities from birth through age 21, is asking for your help. If you know of a child with disabilities or suspected disabilities who resides in the Calumet Public School District and is not presently receiving special education services through the school or Sooner Start Early Intervention program, please pass this information on to the parents.

School programs for children with disabilities ages 3-21 include Autism, Deaf-blindness, Deafness or Hearing Impairment, Intellectually Disabled, Multiple Disabilities, Orthopedic Impairments, Other Health Impairments, Emotional Disturbance, Specific Learning Disability, Speech or Language Impairment, Traumatic Brain Injury, Visual Impairment, and Developmental Delays. The disability must adversely affect the child's educational performance. Included are children living within the Calumet Public School District who attend a private school.

Qualifying children under the age of three years will be served through the Sooner Start Early Intervention Program administered by the State Department of Education. Referrals can be made through Calumet Public Schools. For additional information, contact:
