Dear Calumet Families,

We just wanted to keep you updated on the state of affairs here at Calumet regarding the Coronavirus.  There was a recent announcement that the first case was reported in Oklahoma by Governor Stitt.  We want to assure you that we are taking measures to keep everyone safe and healthy.  We are continuing to work with the Oklahoma State Department of Education and Health on guidelines to follow here at school.  They are in contact with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Next week starts spring break and with that comes a lot of family travel time.  Our employees and students will be traveling enjoying their time off of school with families.  The Oklahoma State Department of Education has issued guidelines on those returning from travel to China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, Japan and other Level 2 or Level 3 countries identified by the CDC, for a self-quarantine for a period of 14 days before returning to school.  This will apply to all students, teachers and staff members.

We have thoroughly cleaned all of our buildings to keep them as safe and healthy as possible.  This will be done again during Spring Break.  Here are some things that you can do to prevent the spread of any viruses on your end:

·      Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds

·      Cough or sneeze in a tissue and place it into the trash can

·      Stay home if you are experiencing any symptoms

·      Stay home and away from people who are sick

·      Try to avoid touching your face, your eyes, nose and mouth with your unwashed hands

·      Consistently clean objects and surfaces

·      Clean your cell phone

Thank you again for your help in keeping our students safe and healthy during this time.  Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any questions or concerns.
